BRYCE & JAMIE / hoping to adopt

about bryce

Age: 30
Hometown: Idaho Falls, Idaho
Education:
Masters of Science Management in Information Systems Security, Colorado Technical University
Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Technology, BYU-Idaho
Occupation: Information Assurance (Cyber Security) Engineer
Hobbies/Talents/Interests:
-I have found an interest in comic books within the last few years. I’ve enjoyed reading Batman, Justice League of America, and The Flash from DC comics. From Marvel, I have enjoyed reading Spiderman and theAvengers. I’ve also enjoyed reading Invincible from Image comics. Along with reading the comics, I have enjoyed all of the recent super hero movies.

-Training Boolean and taking him for long walks is also becoming a favorite pastime of mine. We have worked with a couple of trainers to ensure that we are training him properly, and it has been fun to see Boolean transform into the dog he is. Often times Jamie and I will walk Boolean together. It has given us some time to talk without many distractions. These conversations can be about anything really, but I love spending time with Jamie and Boolean on our walks. If I am walking the dog alone, I find myself lost in thought.

-Golf – I enjoy golf immensely. I play golf on occasion and really enjoy the challenge of the game. I also have fun watching some of golf’s major tournaments. The Master’s tournament for me is one of the greatest sporting events ever. (While in college, I was able to convince Jamie to talk a golf class with me. Through this golf class Jamie was able to learn the rules of the game and it peaked her interest enough to enjoy watching golf tournaments with me. Jamie had fun in the golf class. However, I don’t think she wants to be out on the course playing.)

- This last year I’ve really gotten into the sport of cycling. With our recent move back to my hometown, I’ve had the opportunity to cycle with my brother. We typically will ride early in the mornings during the summer before work. We try to participate in some organized rides as well. Last year I completed a number of long rides, but my favorite was the 100 mile ride in Kalispell Montana.

A little bit about me:

I grew up in Idaho Falls with my parents, two older brothers and my little sister.
I was a very active kid. While I was young, I was interested in competing in gymnastics. I was at the gym between 4 to 8 hours a day. I participated in many tournaments, and even took 2nd place in the state of Idaho amongst kids my own age. I was around 13 years old when I decided that I was done competing in gymnastics. It was a decision I didn’t take lightly, but decided that it was worth having a normal childhood.

It wasn’t long after I had stopped competing in gymnastics when a neighbor
down the street invited me to play on her indoor soccer team. I had a lot of fun playing soccer. My coach convinced me that I was good enough to try out for my school's soccer team in the fall. I made the team and played soccer throughout high school. When I wasn’t playing soccer, I was probably on the ski hill. I spent most weekends during the winter snowboarding. I was also lucky enough to spend most of my summers as a teenager in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. My parents run a small cabin rental business there in the summer. I love the Jackson Hole area. There is so much hiking, biking, and canoeing there--all things I enjoy.

I graduated from Idaho Falls High in 2003. After that, I decided that I would serve a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. I put in my paper work and I was asked to serve in the Mexico Puebla mission. I was excited to follow in my brothers' footsteps and be able to serve a Spanish speaking mission. I worked really hard while I was there and met some incredible people. Those two years went very quickly. Upon returning from my mission, I was accepted into Brigham Young University – Idaho. It was there that I met Jamie, and after we were married, we continued pursuing our degrees. I studied Computer Information Technology.

While attending school I was fortunate enough to land an Internship with Lockheed Martin.
Upon graduation, I was offered a full time job with Lockheed Martin in California. I have been working for Lockheed Martin ever since in many different areas and capacities.

Jamie's thoughts about Bryce:

I definitely hit the jackpot with Bryce! He is the most fun loving, easy going person, and is always game for anything. I could go on and on about all of his traits, but here are a few things that I love about him:

-He is the best dad! Nothing makes me happier than seeing him interact with Veda. It brings me so much joy. They have such a special bond, and he can always get her to really giggle. They have the best dance parties together and can be so silly, and yet Veda loves to give her dad cuddles and hugs, too. Bryce is without a doubt, a wonderful father.

-He is known for his comic book t-shirts. They are great! He is almost always wearing a comic book shirt- usually either Batman or The Flash.

-He can be very spontaneous, and is generally up for anything. Whether it is going out to the movies or dinner with friends, or dropping someone off at the airport, he always makes himself available when it is important!

-He can always make me laugh! Even when I am feeling particularly grumpy about something . . . I can only stay mad for about a minute, and then he always does something to make me smile.

-When he's passionate about something, he goes at it with full intensity.  (most recently it's been about health and fitness) I love that about him- he always gives everything his all.

-I love how in just a few years after graduating from college, he has really excelled in his career. I am so proud of him for all of his accomplishments. My heart just swells with pride when I hear about the awards he has received or that his bosses describe him as a very hard working, capable employee. He has the reputation that he can always be counted on, and it's true!

born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; 3 A time
to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; 4 A time to weep, and a
time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; 5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to
gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; 6 A time to get,

time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

Moroni 10: 32-33
32 Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness;
and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind
and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ;
and if by the grace of God ye are perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny the power of God.
33 And again, if ye by the grace of God are perfect in Christ, and deny not his power, then are ye
sanctified in Christ by the grace of God, through the shedding of the blood of Christ, which is in
the covenant of the Father unto the remission of your sins, that ye become holy, without spot.
