Veda Claire is our charming, sweet, and sometimes sassy two year old. She fills our lives with so much joy. We like to call her "Veda Pie," because she is so sweet! From day one, she has had the calmest, most pleasant disposition. She has the bluest of blue eyes and beautiful, crazy curls that we adore. She is named after her great-great grandmother, Veda, who was a very loving and caring woman- and we know someday our little Veda will be too!
On August 2nd, 2013 our adoption became final, and we took her to the Salt Lake City temple to be sealed to us that very day. This was by far the happiest day of our lives, surrounded by our family and close friends, and we are so grateful that our Veda Claire is part of our forever family.
Veda has a huge love for animals. She enjoys going to the zoo in the summer and seeing all the animals--and she has no fear. She likes to press up against the glass to get a good look! But most of all, she loves dogs. She is always quick to find a puppy while we are out and about, and she absolutely adores her dog, Boolean. She has lovingly nicknamed him "Booey," and he is the first thing she calls for in the morning. She loves to chase him around the house and give him lots of hugs and kisses.
Veda loves to dance. This is a gift that she shares with her birth mother--something that is so dear to our hearts and we are so happy about! We like to say that she has music running through her veins, because as soon as she hears something with a good beat, she immediately begins twirling and dancing. When her mom starts to dance, she usually says, "No dance, mama!" She knows she has better moves! :) She loves any and all kinds of music, but Shake It Off by Taylor Swift is her very favorite. Mom and dad are a little tired of this song, but it is Veda's jam! She requests for, "Shake it off, mmm mmm" daily.
Veda has such a sweet and caring spirit. Several weeks ago at church, she kept trying to share her (slobbered on) graham crackers with the people behind us. After a few minutes of this, the man leaned over and said, "You are very lucky parents. She has such a giving and loving spirit, and she's going to grow up to be a remarkable adult." At first we didn't think much about this compliment, but it really describes Veda beautifully. She has such a giving attitude and loves to share whatever she has, even a sippy cup or slobbered on graham cracker. This is one reason we think she'd be a great big sister!
